Covid update: from 12th April 2021

The campsite is open from Monday 12th April and we are taking bookings.

It's really important that you read our terms and conditions prior to making a booking.

To keep everyone safe there are a few new measures in addition to our existing terms and conditions (below) that we’re asking you to observe. They are as follows:

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with Government restrictions in place at the time of your visit.

  • We are limiting the number of people staying on the campsite at any one time by taking advance bookings only, you cannot just turn up to camp. This includes the free-range camping areas. Click here for: booking information

  • Please maintain social distancing (as per current Government guidelines) when moving around the site and using the facilities.
  • Free-range camping:
    • Space is something we are fortunate to have a lot of! So, we’re asking you to leave a safe and sensible gap between you and the next camper.
    • Members of the same household can camp closer together provided they follow the social distancing guidelines.
  • Organised gatherings are not permitted so we cannot allow any large groups.
  • Where possible, please use the facilities within your caravan/motorhome* rather than the shower/toilet block to try to limit any possible spread of germs.  We will obviously still be keeping the shower/toilet block as clean as possible – can we please ask that, if you do use the facilities, you leave them as clean and tidy as you possibly can for the next person.
  • Please bring and use your own hand sanitiser and use the hand sanitiser provided when entering and exiting the toilet/shower facilities*
  • Please go home and inform us immediately if you, or a member of your household experience symptoms of Covid-19 during your stay.

*If staying with us between 12th April - 16th May, you must have your own self-contained toilet/washing facilities. Our shared toilet/shower facilities will re-open from 17th May.

We hope you have a great time!

Once you have pitched up it is deemed that you have accepted all terms and conditions listed on this page.

1. Pitches

We always try to get you as close to your requested pitch or location on the campsite as possible, but we cannot guarantee any request.  If you camp on one of the 23 pitches with electric hook up it will be assumed that you are using the hook up facility and you will be charged accordingly.

Our numbered pitches each measure approximately 10 metres wide by 7.5 metres deep. The free-range areas are not individually marked or measured out to allow flexibility on the size of your unit, you can select your spot on arrival keeping a safe and sensible distance from the next unit.

Cut off time for bookings is 5pm, a minimum of 48 hours prior to arrival.

2. Electric Hook Ups

We have 19 pitches with electric hook up points and hard standings plus 4 grass pitches with hook up points.  You will need a standard 25 metre hook up cable to connect to our 10 amp supply (see photos below).  Please check the length of your cable prior to arrival.  We do not allow generators.

3. Payment

All advance payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.  We accept payment by bank transfer only for the deposit (details will be provided at the time of booking). We do not take card payments. We accept cheques (plus a surcharge of £2.00 per cheque) if paying more than 14 days in advance of arrival. Please do not send any money until we have confirmed your booking as we are unable to offer refunds. Confirmation of your booking can only be provided via e-mail.

To make a reservation for a numbered pitch with your name on it we require a £25 deposit at the time of booking.

To book for the free-range area (grass, non-electric, choose your spot on arrival) we require either a £25 deposit per unit or the full amount of your stay if it totals less than £25, at the time of booking.

The balance can either be paid in advance using the same method or you can bring the correct money in cash (the amount will be on your confirmation document).

4. Cancellation Insurance

For your protection we recommend that you take out a cancellation insurance policy as any monies paid in advance are non-refundable and non-transferable.  The only exception to this is if we are forced to close the campsite due to Government instruction, in which case we are happy to transfer bookings which cannot go ahead due to the closure, to another date when we are advised that it is safe for us to re-open again. This will only apply if you have an existing booking at the time we are instructed to close. Bookings can be transferred up to 31st December 2021 subject to availability.

Please note: if we are instructed to close by the Government we are not liable for any refunds or expenses you incur in the event that we are prevented from fulfilling your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control.

5. Arrival & Departure

You are welcome to arrive on site anytime between 12.00pm – 9.00pm, if you wish to arrive outside of these hours please agree this in advance by telephoning us on 01934 835020.  Pitches should be vacated by 11.00am.  If you would like a later departure time (to 6pm) please agree this with us in advance and we will accommodate you where possible - a late check out fee will apply. If you have pre-booked a pitch and have not arrived by 9am on the day following your agreed arrival date and have not contacted us, your booking will be cancelled and the pitch made available for others to book.

6. Hirer’s Responsibility

During your stay you are responsible for your pitch and are expected to take all reasonable care of it, leaving it free from rubbish at the end of the hire period.

Please do not pitch on any area of obviously dead or damaged grass.  Any item which does not allow light through to the grass can only remain in the same place for a maximum of 7 days eg: a tent, groundsheet, awning, rug/mat, etc - after 7 days it must be moved to a fresh area of grass.

All grey water must be collected and disposed of at the dump station.

The use of the pitch is at the hirer’s risk and we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to persons or belongings, nor for loss or damage to any vehicle or its contents.  However, we do not seek to exclude or limit liability for negligence.

When connecting to our hook up facilities you must have the correct lead - a standard 25 metre lead which complies with current British standards.  Failure to use the correct lead will make you liable for any damage caused.

We reserve the right to remove and dispose of any  property which has been left unattended for 48 hours without prior notice.

Please follow the Countryside Code:

http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/enjoying/countrysidecode/default.aspx

7. Groups

We do not allow groups of more than 4 on the campsite without prior agreement.  Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

8. General Behaviour

Noise nuisance, loud music and offensive language will not be tolerated.  If, in our opinion, your behaviour is unacceptable, you will be asked to leave immediately without refund. Please keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 11pm & 8am so as not to disturb others.

9. Pets

Well-behaved dogs on leads are allowed at the campsite and off the lead in our dog exercise area.  Dogs are not allowed at the lakeside nor can they be left unattended on the campsite.  Owners must supervise their dogs at all times and must clean up after them when they foul.

10. Fishing

The fishing lakes are open daily from dawn to dusk.  We do not allow night fishing.  For tariff and full rules please see our website or noticeboard in the car park.

11. Smoking on the Campsite

Is discouraged.  If you wish to smoke, please consider non-smokers around you and dispose of cigarette ends responsibly. The café and toilet & shower block are non-smoking areas.

12. Barbecues / Campfires

We allow barbecues but please don’t place them directly on the grass so that it scorches.   We do not allow campfires or firepits.

13. Rubbish

Please help us to keep the site tidy by placing your litter in the appropriate bins (at the bin store located in the fishing car park) before you leave.  All bulky items such as tents, gazebos, chairs, fishing rods, umbrellas, etc must be taken home or to your nearest recycling centre.
