25 pegs with many features.

In this lake you can expect pasty-sized carp, perch to 2.5lb, silver fish (skimmers, roach, rudd) as well as carp to 15lb,

The banks of the North Pool are steep creating a good depth of water tight to the features.

This lake features the 'Hovis' peg on the end of the peninsula where Aardman Animations filmed two adverts for Hovis bread in 2006.  You can view the ads on YouTube by following these links: Hovis Cute & Hovis Teatime.

Current Lake Records

Pleasure bag: Clive Hadley from Henley in Arden, Warwickshire, is the current record holder.  He spent a week on our campsite  and came with the aim of setting a new lake record.  This he did in some style taking a fantastic 305lb bag in the course of one day!  All the fish were taken close in on the “Hovis peg”, on banded pellet over a continual bed of 4mm feed.  Congratulations to Clive - great photo of part of his catch on the photo gallery, click here.

Prior to this Roy Salmon used bread at the far bank to take a magnificent 210.5lb from peg 8 which included carp to 9lb.

Scott Brown from Newport fished peg 9 to take a super 178lb which included double-figured mirrors and commons, fantailed crucians and crucians to 1lb.  He caught most of the fish on the inside-right margin again using a 14 hook and 5lb line but with an 18 elastic.  He also used paste on the hook together with small pellets.

Before this Keith Firks from Bristol held the record from peg 6 to take 154lb including commons to 6lb and mirrors to 8lb. He caught an all-carp bag totalling 37 fish. He fished on the pole with a 12 hook, 5lb line, 16 elastic, 6 metres out in open water with sweetcorn over sweetcorn.

Before Keith, Roy Salmon held the record with 134lb from this lake. Roy fished with rod and line with a 12 hook, 3lb line with sweetcorn over meat and sweetcorn on the inside margins. He had mirrors to 4lb, commons to 3lb, crucians to 2.75lb, tench and roach in his bag. Another of Roy's attempts only just failed to regain him the title from Keith Firks: he managed a fantastic 151.75lb so only just missed out! His all-carp bag included commons to 9.5lb, mirrors to 5lb using bread over liquidised bread on the pole with a 12 hook, 3lb line, 16 elastic.
