  • Price increases for Fishing & Camping 2024

We have tried to keep our prices down over recent months but, unfortunately, our operating costs continue to rise – the most recent being waste/recycling collections and cleaning costs.   Regrettably this means that there will be small increases in our camping and fishing prices.

From Friday 15th March 2024 our fees are as follows:

    CAMPING:

Adults:                                             £10 per person per night

Children (14 & under):                   £8 per person per night

Electric hook up:                           £5 per night

    Dogs:                                               £1 per night

There is still no additional charge for awnings and use of the shower/toilet facilities continues to be included in the price.

    FISHING:

Fishing day ticket: Adult              £10 from dawn to dusk

    Concessionary ticket:

OAP/Disabled/14’s & under       £8 from dawn to dusk

Season ticket: Adult                      £200 per annum

    Season ticket:

    OAP/Disabled/14 & under          £160 per annum

    Extra rods:                                       No charge

  • Phil on Radio Bristol - 2nd August 2023

Did you hear Phil on Radio Bristol earlier this week? He was being interviewed by the lovely Claire Cavanagh on the breakfast show about how campers are coping with the changeable weather this summer.

Claire ended the interview saying that he should be a life coach for his positive spin on the situation!

Anna de Silva also interviewed some of our lovely customers who were camping, fishing and staying in our holiday cottage, to ask them about their experiences of holidaying in the rain.

If you would like to listen to the interviews you can go to BBC Sounds, search for BBC Radio Bristol and the breakfast show on Wednesday 2nd August. Scroll through to just after 8am and you'll hear it.

  • Barbecues on the campsite...

Please take extreme care if you wish to have a barbecue when staying with us on the campsite.  All barbecues must be up on legs so that they are raised up above the grass so that it doesn't scorch.   Please ensure that hot coals are properly extinguished when you have finished cooking before disposing of them responsibly and never take them inside your tent/awning/caravan, etc due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Single-use/disposable barbecues are not permitted, nor do we allow firepits or campfires.

    Stay safe.

  • Another visit from the Truxor...

    15th October 2021:

It’s been a great week weather-wise for carrying out further improvements and maintenance work on the lakes.

All the lakes are now back open.

Similar to the project we carried out in 2018 to create new islands, we’ve taken silt from the Match Lake and Carp Lake and used it to backfill and strengthen the banks around the Match Lake in places where they had been naturally eroded over time.  We’ve also been able to clear the remainder of the weed in the Carp Lake and North Pool and they now look really great and are very fishable again.

We’ve taken lots of photos and video footage which you'll find on our website gallery and Facebook page.

Lastly and this is really important: please do not walk on any areas where the silt has been placed alongside the existing banks – stick to the original path.

  • A visit from the Truxor...

We had a visit from the Truxor courtesy of Aquatic Solutions UK in August 2021 to tackle removing the weed that has been a problem in the North Pool and Carp Lake this year.  This amazing little  machine, operated by 'Superstar Dan', made light work of the job.

Ben & Alex from Benedict Simmons Landscaping were on hand in the digger and dumper to clear up as we went.

  • 'The Big Shave'...

    Wednesday 7th July 2021 - another donation!

We're delighted to announce that, due to your continued generosity donating your change, we've been able to donate a further £625.50 to Cancer52 making a total of £1,520.50.  We think that's tremendous - thank you so much!

    Wednesday 24th March 2021 - update

Today, we have donated a further £314 to Cancer52 via Dom's Just Giving page.

Due to covid we’ve asked our customers to bring the correct fishing fee so that we avoid handling change. This donation is what we would normally have handed back to them.

This brings the total donated so far by customers of Bullock Farm Fishing Lakes to a magnificent £895!  Thanks very much everyone!

    Thursday 13th August 2020 - a further update:

We have today been able to donate a further £276 to 'The Big Shave' Just Giving page in aid of Cancer 52.  This was made up of £176 from fishing customers and a further £100 from the new owners of 'Steven the caravan' who had sadly been abandoned on our campsite.  The total raised by customers of Bullock Farm has grown to a wonderful £581!  Thank you everyone.

Monday 8th June 2020 - 'The Big Shave', an update for you on my original message below.

Dom has now done the deed and shaved his head for charity - along with his beard!  Thank you so much to everyone who has donated by rounding up their fishing fee and, in some cases, you have been even more generous with donations.  We're delighted to announce that the customers of Bullock Farm have so far donated a total of £305 to his current total of £1,347 which will go towards supporting a very worthy charity, Cancer 52.  Donations are still coming in and we'll let you know his final total in due course.  In the meantime, we thought you might like to view the 'The Big Shave'...

    Hello everyone,

A personal message from me today, 20th May 2020

Firstly I’d just like to say how nice it is to be able to welcome people back to the fishing lakes now that the lockdown has been lifted and to thank you for all your messages of support throughout what has undoubtedly been a very difficult time for so many people. The lakes are looking really lovely at the moment and it’s great to be able to share them with you. Phil is particularly happy to see you all as he’s only had me to talk to throughout the lockdown period!

Thank you also for adhering to the new measures we’ve introduced to try to keep everyone as safe as possible.

As you will already know, one of those measures is that we are asking you to bring the correct money and put it at a safe distance behind your swim for us to collect. Some of you have been kind enough to ‘round up’ your fishing fee from £8 to £10 so, what we’ve decided to do is to donate each additional £2 to what we think is a very worthy cause.

Our eldest son, Dom (a teacher), is raising funds for a charity called Cancer 52 (https://www.cancer52.org.uk/cancer52) which aims to promote improved diagnosis, treatment and support for those affected by rare and less common cancers. He’ll be doing it by shaving his head, on camera, and maybe his beard too if his initial target of £200 is raised. It will also depend on which way those making donations have voted – ‘shave the head and keep the beard’ or ‘shave the head’ and lose the beard. Personally I’m undecided – but it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen his face!

I know that times are financially hard for a lot of people at the moment, and this isn’t a request for donations, but we hope that you approve of our choice of what to do with the additional money that some of you have given us or may decide to give.

    Take care everyone.

    Jude

  • Lively New Arrivals!

As you can see from the photos in our fishing gallery, we had some very lively new arrivals delivered to us on Tuesday 16th March!

Some fabulous mirror, linear mirror and common carp have been put into Rushcombe Lake and the North Pool and some superb tench have gone into the Match Lake.

The colour in all the lakes is really good and the new fish are already showing well.

Just a gentle reminder that we’re only open to locals at the moment but if we all continue to do our bit, the signs are encouraging that we’ll be able to welcome everyone back before too long.  In the meantime we hope you enjoy the photos and videos that we’ve shared on our Facebook page.

  • Lovely Reviews

We've been receiving some really nice reviews on our Facebook page and Google, we really appreciate them!  Here are a couple of the most recent ones:

"Great place to fish nice food 👍"

"First time we fished here. Great pegs to fish on Rushcombe lake. £8 for day ticket. Cafe on site with toilets nearby."

"Fabulous campsite. Friendly with good, clean facilities a nice little on-site cafe and plenty of fishing lakes catering for most tastes. Camping/touring side isn't too large either. Fishing stands are well spaced. Lacks a tackle shop but there is one close by."
