Local Pubs & Restaurants

Pubs

Within 10-15 minutes drive

The Blue Flame, West End, Nailsea, 01275 856910. Nice drive or cycle ride across the moors. Proper old-fashioned drinking pub (décor reflects this!). Phil recommends the Bass and we like the locally produced Thatchers cider but, be warned – it goes straight to your knees! Nice beer garden on a sunny day and occasional live music on a Sunday lunchtime. They sometimes do filled rolls but no other food.

The Salthouse, Seafront, Clevedon, 01275 343303. Super location overlooking the sea with large outdoor seating area with patio heaters. Varied menu available and probably worth a visit for the view alone.

The Little Harp, Seafront, Clevedon, 01275 343739. Fabulous views out to sea and to Clevedon Pier - large conservatory and outdoor seating makes the most of this. Recently refurbished and has a nice atmosphere. Extensive and varied menu.

The Bridge Inn at North End, Yatton, 01934 839139. Closest pub to the lakes and cottages. Approx 3-4 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk. Big roadside pub serving reasonably priced 'average' food. Great indoor and outdoor area for kids. Large car park.

The Old Inn, Paul's Causeway, Congresbury. 01934 832270 Nice place for a Sunday lunchtime drink in the winter. Roaring log fire and small but cosy bar area, it does get busy. Well kept Bass if you're a real ale enthusiast. No food. Beer garden.

The Plough, Congresbury. 01934 877402 Nice atmosphere, cosy pub doing good food. Nice garden area.

The Moorend Spout, North Street, Nailsea. 01275 855336. Good pub grub and good value. Can get busy but a nice drive across the moors to get there.

The Drum & Monkey, Kenn, 01275 873433. Under new ownership, we haven't tried it yet. Approx 6-7 minutes drive heading back towards Clevedon. Busy roadside pub with large dining area. 'Average' pub grub.

Within 20 minutes drive
