Bob Rothwell sent us this and the next 3 photos in the gallery of the 5th consecutive year of the Manchester lads holiday.
Rafal also caught this beautiful tench from the Match Lake - also on corn.
This is Rafal Rybarczyk with a lovely common from the Carp Lake caught on corn.
This is Charlie Towner on only his 2nd day's fishing when he caught this beautiful 6lb 4oz common carp from Rushcombe lake.
 
He caught it using luncheon meat on a size 10 hook with his brand new quiver rod.
This is Luke Nix with the largest fish caught from Rushcombe Lake so far!  Luke caught this lovely 10lb common carp on the pole with a size 16 hook and luncheon meat from the margins of peg 5.  Luke finished up with a 90lb bag of fish.
Phil has caught his first fish from peg 28 of the Match Lake under the expert guidance of Shawn Kitteridge.  Phil estimated his lovely crucian was at least 10lb - I think he didn't have his glasses on and he wasn't using any scales!

This is Dan Connolly, aged 10, with an 8lb mirror on his first time fishing with his own rod using crab pellet.
This is Mark Proctor from Burnley who had a nice 30lb bag from Rushcombe during his camping holiday with us.

This is Martin Jones' daughter who caught around 24 fish from Rushcombe using mainly maggot on a 3 meter whip and a light rig.
Reece Cleave, on his first-ever fishing trip, set up on peg 8 for a three-hour evening session. He fished a long pole with 4mm soft hooker and loose fed pellet over the top. The first fish taken was a beautiful 12lb mirror carp, then followed by a 7lb, 5lb, 4lb and a 3lb fish. The rig was a maver ut size 6 pole float with 5lb main and 3 pound bottom line with a 14 size hook. He managed to bag 31lb during his visit.
Andrew Cottom stayed in The Loose House recently and sent us this photo of this 9lb carp caught from peg 17 of the Carp Lake.

This is Harry Moody's Dad with a lovely double-figured carp caught from peg 7 of the North Pool on spicy punched meat.
This is John Allison with his personal best 8lb commons caught on sweet corn from the Carp Lake.
This is the Whiteley family who stayed in one of our holiday cottages.

Nick Wright, a self-confessed 'grumpy old man' wasn't quite so grumpy once he'd caught this lovely common.  Nick brought his family camping and had a great few days with us.

Rachael  Glew aged 14yrs with a 1 1/2lb carp caught on luncheon meat.

Paul & Matthew Martin from Manchester had a great day fishing. All the fish pictured below were caught on a 12 Korum Quickstop hair rig with 2 pellets hair rigged in the middle of the lake from peg 21 of the Carp Lake.

Lucy, aged 5, fished with her Grandad on Rushcombe Lake using single sweetcorn on a size 18 hook.
Jon from Hartcliffe with a 13lb13oz carp from the Carp Lake.  This was one of 12 caught on halibut pellet.
Fred Tysoe caught this lovely fish using a float, a size 12 hook on a 10lb line with luncheon meat fishing the margins of peg 19 of the Carp Lake.  It was one of 8 he caught in a bag of 35-40lb.
Harry Bailey, aged 12 from Hednesford in Staffordshire stayed with us on holiday with his grandparents.  Harry was fishing on a telescopic pole, 4lb line, a size 16 hook using size 10 elastic, with floating bread.  In a 5 hour session Harry landed 17 fish that totalled over 27lb.  Best of all was a fabulous 5lb common carp which, at the time was a new record for this lake.
Jon Palmer fished peg 8 of the North Pool on the pole with a 3lb line and size 10 hook.  He used bread flake to take carp to 7.5lb and had a fantastic total weight of 134lb beating his previous best weight of 132lb approx a year ago.
This is 7 year old Rosie who managed to bag 30lb of fish from Rushcombe Lake on her first attempt.  She was helped by her Grandad, Bill Davis.
Patrick Baker sent us this photo of his 7 year old son, Jack, who helped friend Ron to land this lovely 10lb common carp.
This is Shawn Kittridge with a cracking bag from the South Pool.  Shawn currently holds the record pleasure bag on the Carp Lake with 243lb.

Paul Farwell and his son Mark from Whitchurch had a superb day on pegs 6 & 7 of the Carp Lake. They both fished floating dog biscuit and ended up with a 56lb bag of carp all over 6lb. The largest was just over 10lb, Mark also caught a 9lb 5oz fish.

Martin Jones, of Whitchurch in Bristol, fished peg 20 of the Carp Lake recently.  He fished to the reeds on the island on the pole with a 12 hook and 5-6lb line with chick peas.  His fish ranged from 4lb to 6lb giving him a nice bag of around 31.5lb.

Joan Barratt from Stotfold in Hertfordshire, recently stayed in the Six House.  Joan had never fished before and was delighted to land this beautiful 5lb 12oz mirror carp on her second attempt.  Joan fished the North Pool using a roach pole.
This is Luke Nix who fished Rushcombe Lake on the pole using spam as bait to catch this fabulous 40-50lb bag of fish.
Rowan Northcott from Bedminster in Bristol sent us this photo of his personal best 13lb mirror carp caught from peg 21 of the Carp Lake. He caught it float fishing on an 8lb line using luncheon meat on a size 10 hook.
James Benoy from Dunball, near Bridgwater, had a lovely 11lb of carp and goldfish from the Rushcombe Lake:
This is Chris Dring with a fabulous 7.5lb common carp from the North Pool.  Chris, who is an Aerospace fitter, came fishing for the first time in 44 years!  He used worm with no other feed, a 16 hook and 6lb line out in open water.
Barry Dring, a retired aircraft fitter from Avonmouth, caught this lovely 8.5lb common - his personal best. He caught the fish on marine halibut pellet pre drilled with a six 14 hook on a hair rig to 4lb hook length from peg 17 of the North Pool.
This is Hartcliffe & Withywood Angling Club.  Josh Britt, aged 12, caught a personal best 8lb 8oz mirror carp on the pole with a 2lb line, size 16 hook and single sweetcorn.  Frazer Spice, aged 12, also caught his personal best – a 7lb 8oz mirror carp, again on sweetcorn. Chris Richards caught a 10lb 8oz mirror with a rigged size 12 hook using a small luncheon meat/sweetcorn combination.  He passed this tip on to Luke Parnell, aged 12, who went on to catch his personal best 7lb 8oz common.
This is 5 year-old Sharla with her first ever fish from Rushcombe Lake.  With a little help from Dad, Rowan, Sharla used maggots over micro pellets on a size 16 hook, 4lb line and had a fish almost every chuck.  It was a great day for both of them.
Nathan Baber, aged 12, is a Bristol City ball boy and so can do no wrong as far as Phil is concerned!  He had a great day fishing on peg 3 of Rushcombe Lake taking 226 fish to 1lb with a total weight of 36lb.  Nathan used a 16 hook on a 4lb line with pellet over pellet fishing to the inside left margin.   He was accompanied by his godfather, Lionel Chidzey who caught a very respectable 21.5lb of fish - 60 in total.
We were delighted to welcome the NFA Disabled national match fishermen to our venue in October 2008. Even though the match was fished in bright sunlight by anglers unfamiliar with the lake, 35lb was the winning weight.  Everyone weighed in and there were excellent back up weights.  The match was organised by Steve Nethercott and sponsored by Jeff and Ann from The Fishing Man Tackle Shop in Highbridge.  Their daughter, Stephanie presented the winning trophy.
Jason Ashley sent us these super photos of his daughters Kimberley (8.5) and Caitlin (5.5) on their first ever fishing trip.  They caught using maggots in the margins of Rushcombe Lake on Easter Sunday afternoon.  This is Caitlin.

This is Dave Townsend from Weston super Mare who caught his personal best 11.5lb mirror from peg 5 of the Carp Lake.  He was on a 4lbs line and size 10 hook and fished to the inside right margin.  
Liam Moore and Ryan Wilcox caught a total of 42.5 lb of carp from the Carp Lake including fish of 8lb, 7lb, 6.5lb, 5lb, 4.5lb and 2.5lb using luncheon meat.

Jim Shadbolt of Bradley Stoke sent us photos of his son Ben's 1st ever fishing trip (see the photo gallery on the website).  Ben is 5 years old and had a fantastic day catching 3 fish in his first 15 minutes.  In total he managed 20+ fish during a 4 hour session with a size 18 hook with single maggot, 3lb line and loose-fed maggot.  Between the two of them they collected a mixed bag of fish, nothing big but plenty of them (around 50 in total).

Max Lamprey, aged 13 from Bristol, fished the Carp Lake for the first time to take a personal best fish of 15lb from peg 6.  He fished half way out tight to the reeds on a hair-rigged piece of pepperami on a size 6 hook to a 12lb line and a 15lb hook length.  His previous personal best was 11lb and he also bagged a 7lber and 3 other smaller fish.
Gary Hutchings of Clevedon sent us this great photo of 10 year old Jake with his very first fish, a nice common carp of around 3lb, caught just half an hour into his first fishing trip.  Jake used a single white maggot on a size 16 hook, 3lb line float, fishing over a small handful of maggots as loose feed from peg 17, fishing in open water half way to the island of the North Pool.
Well done to Bullock Farm regular, Les Headington, who, whilst targeting the specimen carp in the Carp Lake with spam, a size 6 hook and 10lb line; was surprised to catch his personal best tench of 4.5lb.  
We received these photos from Matt Shutt (who lives in North Bristol and works for Avon & Somerset Police) who had a great day fishing with his mate Mike Kehoe.
Albert Wood, who is retired, caught this personal best 12.5lb linear mirror from peg 12 of the Match Lake ledgering on a rod and line with luncheon meat over groundbait with a 14 hook and 7lb line, out in open water.
Philip James, a ground-worker from Congresbury, caught a beautiful 8lb linear mirror from peg 1 of the South Pool fishing sweetcorn over groundbait.
Postman Ryan Bowerman from Henbury in Bristol had only been fishing for about a month when he visited us to fish on the carp lake.  He had a great day and amongst his haul were two fish at 7lb, one at 8lb, one at 9lb and two at 11lb which was a personal best.  Here he is with one of the 11lbers.
Antonio Mauro, from Bristol, sent us these super photos following a great day fishing.  During a 12-hour period (from 6am - 6pm) he caught 29 fish, ranging from 2lb to 15lb including 2 at 12lb and 2 at 8lb. Antonio fished with meat on the ledger and bread and dog biscuit on the top, from peg 20 on the corner of the island and with bread and biscuit and ledgered meat on the island on the other side.
Louis Barlow from Bristol fished the Carp Lake.  These fish were caught  with corn over corn and meat over finely chopped meat.  The largest of his haul was 14.5lb.

Len Selman, a retired director from Yatton, recently fished peg 20 using luncheon meat over sweetcorn, a size 10 hook, 10lb line, close to the island to take, amongst others, this lovely double-figured carp.
Shaun Collins a Field Service Engineer from Bradley Stoke, caught this beautiful 14.5lb mirror on 23rd October 2007 using a piece of cubed bacon grill from peg 4 of the Carp Lake in the margins.
Wayne Chapman, from Hartcliffe in Bristol, caught this beautiful tench from the Match Lake on a 16 hook and single sweetcorn.  It was a 5lb personal best for Wayne.
Mike Barber sent us this great photo of his Uncle Reg, 88 years young, who caught this twelve and a half pounder on the North Pool on 6th September 2007.
Tony Coombe of Clevedon brought his 13 year old son Tom fishing to Bullocks Farm on 24th August 2007. He fished from peg 6 on the carp lake, was feeder fishing and used corn on his hook. Throughout the day he was catching 6lb and 7lb mirror carp. At about 2.30pm he caught a 12lber, which is the biggest fish he has caught. Tony and Tom only took up fishing just over a year ago and were kind enough to say that Bullocks is an ideal location for them.
Richard Latham sent us this great photo of his son Robert with the 8.5lb mirror carp he caught from the North Pool.  Robert is 11 years old, from Portishead, and has only just taken up fishing.  Earlier in the session he caught a 3lb common carp, his first fish of any size, following up with this beauty. Robert was fishing with luncheon meat on a size 14 hook, 6lb line and legering in open water. As Richard says "the look on his face says it all".
Thomas Williams, aged 10, told his Dad, Pete, he wanted to try his hand on the Carp Lake as a change from the North Pool.  He managed to catch his best fish ever - a 9.5lb mirror from peg 14.  He also sent us these pictures of two lovely 8lbers caught from peg 10, using luncheon meat float-fished on a size 10 hook.  As his Dad says “despite the nervous smile, he's as happy as a Bristol City fan in the championship!”. 
Here's Blake White, aged 15 from Failand near Bristol with a beautiful common carp from peg 19 of the Carp Lake.  He fished tight to the reeds with luncheon meat ledgered on a size 6 hook over hemp.
Sajjad Gani, aged 15, sent us this pictures is of an 11lb 9oz mirror carp. He caught it from peg 7 of the Match Lake using floating bread.

"Had a cracking day, caught 20 good decent sized carp (8 - 10lb) from the North pond. All caught of small pieces of meat fished in the margins, over pellet. Took my friend Fred Barber with me Carp fishing for the first time, and here's a pic of the first carp he caught".

Jason Ashley with a lovely 8lb ghost koi from peg 8 of the Carp Lake caught on dog biscuit off the surface. He also had several more mirrors and commons ranging from 5-7lb.

Theo Moulsdale from Brislington in Bristol with some super fish from the South Pool
Russell Oliver, retired builder from Bristol, caught a beautiful 9lb 3oz common on his favourite peg 16 of the North Pool.

Ian Hughes of Weston super Mare fished on the North Pool and caught over 60lb of carp, crucians and fantails caught on a bitterly cold day.
Brothers Shane & Scott McLoughlin from Bristol fished pegs 5 & 6 of the Carp Lake and caught 11 fish, all over 8lbs in weight.  Scott's biggest was a 15lb 8oz mirror and Shane's biggest were 13lb 4oz & 11lb 6oz mirrors.  The brothers fished close to the island with 10lb line and 15lb hair rig - all the fish fell to luncheon meat on the hook and they fed sweetcorn and hemp.
