Terms and Conditions
1. Payment Cheques should be made payable to P T & J Simmons. We also accept payment via online banking: please ask for details. We do not have facilities to accept credit or debit cards. We accept telephone and faxed bookings provided that a deposit of £75.00 (which is required to confirm the booking) is received within five working days of the booking, together with your completed booking form. The remaining balance is due one calendar month before your holiday start date together with a £50.00 breakages deposit which will be returned to you within one week of the end of your holiday providing: no major breakages or damages have occurred and the cottage is left is a clean and tidy condition (see 3 & 8 below). If we do not receive the balance of your holiday on the due date we reserve the right to re-let the accommodation. You may wish to pay the full amount for your holiday on making your booking and you must do so if the holiday start date is within 4 weeks. 2. Arrival & Departure Your accommodation will be available to you after 4:00pm on the day of arrival – please telephone us on 01934 835020 if you will be arriving later than 6:00pm. Your property must be vacated by 10:00am on the day of departure in order to maintain our high standards of cleanliness for our next guests. 3. Hirer’s Responsibility During your stay you are responsible for the accommodation and its contents and are expected to take all reasonable care of it, leaving it clean and tidy at the end of the hire period. A deduction from the breakages deposit may be made if this condition is not met (see 1 above). It is expected that you will pay for all but minor breakages or damage (see 1 above). The use of the accommodation is at the hirer’s risk and we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to persons or belongings, nor for loss or damage to any vehicle or its contents. However, we do not seek to exclude or limit liability for negligence. At the end of your stay please: close all doors and windows, lock your cottage and put the keys through the letterbox of the farmhouse. 4. Cancellation Insurance When you book your holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract. If you are unable to take your holiday then any monies already paid will only be refundable in the event that we are able to re-let the accommodation. For your protection we recommend that you take out a cancellation insurance package. 5. Fishing Free fishing is available to guests who are named on the booking form, staying in our holiday cottage accommodation. 6. Bed Linen & Towels Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. 7. Pets Pets are not allowed at the accommodation or lakes. 8. Smoking For the benefit of all our guests, to prevent the risk of fire and to comply with current legislation, the cottages and the area immediately outside the cottages are non-smoking zones. Breach of this condition will automatically result in your breakages deposit being retained to cover additional cleaning costs. We also reserve the right to terminate the hire without notice, and without refund, for breach of this condition. 9. Number of Persons Number of persons to be accommodated to be arranged at time of booking. We reserve the right to terminate the hire without notice, and without refund, for breach of this condition. Single-sex groups can only be accommodated at our discretion and at a maximum of 4 persons per cottage. 10. Cottage Whilst we will do our utmost to ensure you stay in the cottage requested at the time of booking, in some circumstances it may be necessary to ask you to stay in the alternative cottage. Should this be necessary we will do our best to notify you in advance of your arrival. Both cottages are of the same high standard.
