Camping at Bullock Farm

The Campsite...

We have 19 pitches with hard-standings and electric hook up points (these pitches are half hard-standing and half grass); 4 all-grass pitches with electric hook up plus 5 grass pitches without electric hook up.  If you wish to reserve a pitch then we ask for a non-refundable, non-transferable £25 deposit at least one week in advance to secure your pitch otherwise you can just turn up on the day and decide where you’d like to set up camp in our 'free-range' areas.  Please check our terms and conditions below.  Sorry, we don't allow generators.

We have lovely new shower and toilet facilities in the campsite plus additional showers and toilets situated in the fishing car park next to the Lambing Shed.  We also have two dishwashing stations; fresh drinking water and chemical disposal point.   Refreshments are available from the on-site café - 'The Lambing Shed' - click here for opening times, call them on 07429 934719.

Other services...

The Lambing Shed café serves up a variety of hot and cold food: jacket potatoes, paninis, daily home-cooked specials, home-made cakes, a very popular Sunday carvery and they also sell some local produce.  Click here for full details of what they have to offer. By prior arrangement with the staff in The Lambing Shed you can organise daily newspapers, bread and milk.

There is a hard roadway into and around the campsite.

We welcome dogs with well-behaved owners at the campsite!  Dogs must be kept on leads, not left unattended and are not allowed at the lakeside at any time.  We have a dog exercise area where your dog can be let off the lead, this is around the stock lakes to the north of the campsite - please do not let your dog go into the water.  Please clean up after your dog – a bin is provided for this purpose in the dog exercise area.  We charge £1 per night per dog staying at the campsite.

In wet or frosty weather...

In times of wet or frosty weather, please keep motor vehicles, particularly motor homes, on the hard road and hard standings - please do not drive onto the grass.  If you are in any doubt, please call us on 01934 835020 as we do not have facilities to pull you out if you get stuck.

Local attractions...
As well as superb coarse fishing on site we are ideally situated for visiting Bristol, Bath, Cheddar, Wells, Wookey Hole and the surrounding countryside as well as the North Somerset coastline and various National Trust properties including Tyntesfield.  Click here for a whole host of ideas.  We're also a recommended place to stay in the London to Land's End Cycling Guide - click here for further information.

If you are looking to party and to play loud music (if your neighbour on the campsite can hear it, it's too loud), or to come onto or off the site late at night, then we are defnitely not the site for you.  On the other hand, if you enjoy staying on a quiet, peaceful site in a rural location, with a  family atmosphere, we'd love to see you.  Groups of 4 or more by prior arrangement only - please see our terms and conditions below.

The Wright family from Maidenhead spent a great week camping and fishing with us (photos on our gallery).  Here's what they had to say:

"Having spent a splendid week camping and fishing at Bullock Farm with my wife Velda (allergic to fish!!) and my youngest, Sam, we decided to return a couple of weeks later with Matt (son number 2).

What a great few days it turned out to be, weather was a bit iffy occasionally but that did not distract from some great sport. Phil (the owner) gave as a warm welcome and updated us on the past couple of weeks' catches and the progress towards having electric hook ups installed on the site, as well as just chatting in general, an excellent host and extremely friendly.

It didn’t take us long to get the camp set up, kettle on and fishing gear rigged and ready to go. So after a refreshing brew we headed for North Pool (literally 2 minutes from the tent) for a couple of hours sport before dark.

The rest of the week was divided between the Carp Lake, the boys favourite, and North Pool, my favourite as I could nip back to the tent for the odd cuppa (and obviously see if my better half was ok) as well as the odd trip out to keep her happy.  Hopefully Alex (number 1 son) will be able to join us on our next visit, work load permitting, as we shall DEFINITELY BE BACK."

We can also accept cheques (plus a surcharge of £0.75 per cheque) if paying more than 14 days in advance of arrival. We do not have facilities to accept credit or debit cards. If paying on arrival we can only accept cash.  Please call us to check availability before sending any money.  If you would like confirmation of your payment, please provide us with your e-mail address.

4. Cancellation Insurance

For your protection we recommend that you take out a cancellation insurance policy as any monies paid in advance are non-refundable and non-transferable.

5. Arrival & Departure
You are welcome to arrive on site anytime between 12.00pm – 9.00pm, if you wish to arrive outside of these hours please agree this in advance by telephoning us on 01934 835020.  Pitches should be vacated by 11.00am.  If you would like a later departure time (to 6pm) please agree this with us in advance and we will accommodate you where possible. If you have pre-booked a pitch and have not arrived by 9am on the day following your agreed arrival date and have not contacted us, your booking will be cancelled and the pitch made available.

6. Hirer’s Responsibility
During your stay you are responsible for your pitch and are expected to take all reasonable care of it, leaving it free from rubbish at the end of the hire period.

Please do not pitch on any area of obviously dead or damaged grass.  Any item which does not allow light through to the grass can only remain in the same place for a maximum of 7 days eg: a tent, groundsheet, awning, rug/mat, fridge, etc - after 7 days it must be moved to a fresh area of grass.

All grey water must be collected and disposed of at the dump station.

The use of the pitch is at the hirer’s risk and we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to persons or belongings, nor for loss or damage to any vehicle or its contents.  However, we do not seek to exclude or limit liability for negligence.

When connecting to our hook up facilities you must have the correct lead - a standard 25 metre lead which complies with current British standards.  Failure to use the correct lead will make you liable for any damage caused.

We reserve the right to remove and dispose of any  property which has been left unattended for 48 hours without prior notice.

Please follow the Countryside Code:

We do not allow groups of more than 4 on the campsite without prior agreement.  Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

8. General Behaviour

Noise nuisance, loud music and offensive language will not be tolerated.  If, in our opinion, your behaviour is unacceptable, you will be asked to leave immediately without refund. Please keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 11pm & 8am so as not to disturb others.
